Solve each of the following system of equations by elimination method.

multiply eqn 1 by 5 and eqn 2 by 3

Here is your answer :-

3x + y = 8 .....(1)
5x + y = 10.....(2)

Subtract eq (2) from (1),

3x + y = 8
5x + y = 10
-5x - y = -10
-------------------------
-2x = -2

➡ x = 1

Now, put value of x in eq (1),

➡ 3x + y = 8

➡ 3(1) + y = 8

➡ 3 + y = 8

➡ y = 5

Answer :- x = 1 and y = 5
