AnsWer :

x = - 3 and - 4.

Solution :

We have, Quadratic Equation.

 \tt \dagger \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   {x}^{2}  + 7x + 12 = 0.

Compare with General Equation.

 \tt \dagger \:  \:  \:  \:  \: a {x}^{2} + bx + c = 0.

Where as,

 \tt \red{a \neq0.}

  • a = 1.
  • b = 7.
  • c = 12.

We have Quadratic Formula.

 \tt \dagger \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x =  \dfrac{ - b \pm \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  - 4ac} }{2a}

 \tt\longmapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 7 \pm \sqrt{ {(7)}^{2}  - 4 \times 1 \times 12} }{2}

 \tt\longmapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 7 \pm \sqrt{ 49  - 48} }{2}

 \tt\longmapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 7 \pm \sqrt{ 1} }{2}

 \tt\longmapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 7 \pm 1}{2}

\rule{90}1

Either,

 \tt\mapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 7  + 1}{2}

 \tt\mapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 6 }{2}

 \tt\mapsto x =  - 3.

\rule{90}1

Or,

 \tt\mapsto x =  \dfrac{  - 7   - 1}{2}

 \tt\mapsto x =  \dfrac{   - 8}{2}

 \tt\mapsto x =  - 4.

Therefore, the value of x is - 3 and - 4.
