let 1/x = a and 1/y = b

by using this we get following equations

2a + 3b = 5 equation (1)

4a +5b = 9 equation (2)

now by multiplying equation (1) by 2

we get,

4a+6b= 10 equation (3)

now. equation (3) -(2) we get,

4a+6b = 10

- 4a+5b = 9

b = 1

now using value of b in (1) we get

2a+ 3(1) = 5

2a = 5-3

2a= 2

a=2/2

a= 1

substituting values of a & b as 1/x & 1/y we get

x = 1/1 = 1

y=1/1 = 1
