Answer: x = 6 and y = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

(i)    x/3+y/4 = 11

     (4x+3y)/ 12 = 11

       4x+3y = 132..........equation 1

(ii)     5x/6 -y/3 = -7

        (5x-2y)/6 = -7

       5x-2y = -42...........equation 2

multiply equation 1 with 2 and equation 2 with 3 and then add both equation

2*(4x+3y) = 2* 132

8x+6y = 264.........equation 3

3*(5x-2y) = 3*(-42)

15x-6y = -126...equation 4

add equation 3 and equation 4

8x+6y+15x-6y = 264-126

23x = 138

x = 138/23

x = 6

substitute x = 6 in equation 1

 4(6) +3y = 132

          3y = 108

      y = 108/3

     y=36
