(i) \: 4x = 8 \\  \\  \\  \implies \: x =  \frac{ \cancel8 \tiny2}{  \cancel4 \tiny1}  \\  \\  \implies \: x = 2 \ \\ \  \\(ii) \:  2x + 3 = x \\ \\   \\  \implies \: 2x - x + 3 = 0 \\ \\   \\  \implies \: x  + 3 = 0  \\ \\   \\ \implies x =  - 3\\   \\ \\  \implies  \cancel{- 3 } \cancel{+  3} = 0 \\   \\ \\  \implies \: 0 = 0

∴x=8/4

∴x=2/1

∴x=2
