Given 1st Equation is x + y = 5.   ----------------------- (1)

Given 2nd Equation is 2x - 3y = 4  --------------------- (2)

On solving (1) * 2 & (2), we get

2x + 2y = 10

2x - 3y = 4

------------------

5y = 6

 y = 6/5.

Solve y = 6/5 in (1), we get

x + y = 5

x + 6/5 = 5

6x + 6 = 25

6x = 25 - 6

6x = 19

x = 19/6.

Hope this helps!
