Solve the following by quadratic formula x^2+48x-324=0

x = \dfrac{ -  \: b \:  ± \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  \:  -  \: 4ac }  }{2a}

Given = x² + 48x - 324 = 0

Here..

a = 1

b = 48

c = - 324

=> x = \dfrac{ -  \: 48 \:  ± \sqrt{ {(48)}^{2}  \:  -  \: 4 \:  \times  \: 1 \:  \times  \: ( - 324) }  }{2 \:  \times  \: 1}

=> \dfrac{ -  \: 48 \:  ± \sqrt{ 2304  \:   +   \: 1296} }{2 }

=> \dfrac{ -  \: 48 \:  ± \sqrt{ 3600} }{2 }

=> \dfrac{ -  \: 48 \:  ± 60 }{2 }

» \dfrac{-\:48\:+\:60}{2}

=> \dfrac{12}{2}

=> 6

» \dfrac{-\:48\:-\:60}{2}

=> \dfrac{-108}{2}

=> - 54
