Hi ,
Given ,
3x - 5y = -1 ----( 1 )
x - y = 1
x = 1 + y ----( 2 )
Substitute ( 2 ) in equation ( 1 ) , we get
3( 1 + y ) - 5y = -1
3 + 3y - 5y = -1
-2y = -1 - 3
-2y = -4
y = ( -4 )/( -2 )
y = 2
put y = 2 in equation ( 2 ) , we get
x = 2 + 1 = 3
Therefore ,
x = 3 , y = 2
I hope this helps you.
