so,

Angle traced by minutes hand in 40 minutes.

 \frac{360}{60}  \times 20 \\  \\

= 6 × 20 = 120°
change in radian ,

= 120 × π / 180 radian

= 60 ×π / 90radian

= 30×π/45radian

=2×π/3 radian

= 2π/ 3radian

now , length of minutes hand = 20cm

so ,

l / r = {\theta}

l /20 = 2π/3

l = 40π/ 3


therefore distance moves by the tip of minutes hand equal to 40π/3 cm
