solve the question x+2y=7 and 3x+y=6​

Answer:

x + 2y = 7 --------------- equation (1)

3x + y = 6 --------------- equation (2)

multiplying equation (2) by 2 .

2 ( 3x + y = 6 )

6x + 2y = 12 ------------- equation (3)

Subtracting equation (1) from (3)

x - 6x + 2y - 2y = 7 - 12

- 5x = - 5

x = -5/-5

x = 1

putting value of x as 1 in equation ( 1)

x + 2y = 7

1 + 2y = 7

2y = 7 - 1

2y = 6

y = 6/2

y = 3
