Answer:

(-2, -4)

Which is option C

Step-by-step explanation:

The Given system of equations is

0.8 x + 0.1 y = -2                       ......... (i)

-0.17 x + y = -3.66                      ........(ii)

Let us take equation (ii)

Now using it to solve the system

It is

-0.17 x + y = -3.66

Adding 0.17 x on both sides

-0.17 x + y + 0.17 x = -3.66 + 0.17x

y = -3.66 + 0.17 x  ....................(iii)

Putting this value in equation no (i)

which is

0.8 x + 0.1 y = -2

Putting values it becomes

0.8 x + 0.1(-3.66 + 0.17 x)  = -2

Multiplying inside gives

0.8 x - 0.366 + 0.017 x = -2

0.817 x - 0.366 = -2

Adding 0.366 to both sides of the equation

0.817 x - 0.366 + 0.366 = -2 + 0.366

0.817 x = -1.634

Dividing both sides by 0.817 it gives

x = - 1.634 / 0.817

x = -2

putting this value in equation 3

which is

y = -3.66 + 0.17 x

y= -3.66 + 0.17(-2)

y = -3.66  - 0.34

y = -4
