The answer to the system of equations is (2,-2)

First, we can substitute in 7x-16 for y in the other equation

This will give us  7x-16=2(2x-5)

Next, we distribute the 2 throughout the parenthesis

 7x-16=4x-10

Now we can solve for x. Begin by adding 16 to each side

 7x=4x+6

Now we can subtract 4x from each side

 3x=6

Lastly, we can divide each side by 3

 x=2

Now, we need to substitute in the value that we got for x into one of the equations to find the y value.

 7(2) -16 =y

This becomes  14-16= y

So  y=-2

This means that the solution to the system of equations is (2,-2)
