11x + 3y = 51
2x + y = 10
to get any one of x or y equal ,multiply the 2nd equation with 3.
11x + 3y = 51
6x + 3y = 30
3y gets cancelled.
change sign,
11x = 51
-6x = -30
---------------
5x = 21
--------------
x = 21/5
put x value in second equation,
2 x + y = 10
y = 10 - 2x
y = 10 - 2(21/5)
y = 10 - 42/5
taking LCM,
y = 50 - 42/5
y = 8/5
so,
x = 21/5 and y = 8/5
hope it helps!!!!
