Solve this :

Express 0.47 bar , bar only on 7 ,

$in \: the \: form \: of \: \frac{p}{q}$


Answer this as per class 9 , Chapter 1 - Number Systems.

let 0.47 bar  = x 

then ,

10*x = 10*0.47bar 

10x = 4.7bar

then,  as there are 1 number under bar, then multiply by 10

now,

10*10x = 10*4.7bar 

100x = 47.7 bar 


subtract 10x from both sides,


100x=47.7bar
- 10x =-4.7bar 

bar will cancel 

then, 90x = 43

x= 43/90

then 0.47bar in p/q form is 43/90

Hey mate,
Here is your answer,

$x = 0.477777...... \\ 10x = 10 \times 0.47777.... = 4.7777.. \\ 100x = 100 \times 0.4777... = 47.777...$

if we subtract 10x from 100x,

$100x -10x = 47.777... - 4.777... \\ = > 90x = 43 \\ = > x = \frac{43}{90}$
