During the Second World War, two groups of armies was formed:

1. Axis Power: This bloc consisted of the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis, i.e., the countries were Italy, Germany and Japan.

2. Allied Power: This block consisted of the countries of Russia, France and Britain. America joined later, because Japan attacked Pearl Harbour on 7th December, 1941.


At first, it seemed that the Axis Power would win the War. Germany went on capturing Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, and even Paris of France fell to the Nazis (Germany). Italy also captured Ethiopia. Again, Japan attacked Manchuria of China and started capturing the colonies of Britain and France in China.

The fate of the War changed with the joining of America in the War. After America joined, she gave massive support to her allies, both by men and money. Russian troops defended Russia with a great determination. France also got back Paris. They attacked Italy then. Mussolini, the Dictator of Italy, tried to flee away in a disguise, along with her wife. However, he was caught by the Italians and they shot him dead.

Then the Allied Power group went to attack Berlin (Germany). Adolf Hitler (the dictator of Germany) committed a suicide in an underground bomb shelter. Thus, Germany also lost.

Now, the problem was with Japan. Japan did not surrender. He went on capturing Malaya (now Malaysia), Burma (now Myanmar), and reached the very border of India. America did not want to prolong the war. He brought before the world, the deadliest weapon ever known, the worst enemy of mankind - Nuclear bombs. He dropped the bombs in Hiroshima and three days later, in Nagasaki. The Japanese were forced to surrender on 1945. Thus the Second World War came to an end.
