Let the length of 1st parallel side be x m,

    the length of 2nd parallel side be y m,

Given,

 Difference between them = 16 m

= > x m - y m - 16 m

= > x - y = 16       ....( i )

Now,

We know that the formula for the area of trapezium is 1 / 2 ( sum of parallel side ) x height ( or distance between parallel side )

       Applying formula : -

= > 300 m^2 = 1 / 2 ( x m + y m )15 m

= > 300 m^2 / 15 m = 1 / 2 ( x m + y m )

= > 20 m = 1 / 2 ( x + y ) m

= > 40 = x + y            ...( ii )

Now, Adding ( i ) and ( ii ),

x - y = 16

x + y = 40

_________

2x = 56

_________

x = 56 / 2

x = 28

Substitute the value of x in ( i )

= > x - y = 16

= > 28 - y = 16

= > 28 - 16 = y

= > 12 = y

Therefore, the length of parallel sides is 28 m and 12 m.
