Let the Length be x

Let and Breadth also be x

According to the question Length is 3 times of Breadth.

So the Length = x+3

Perimeter is 34 cm

So Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(L+B)

34 cm = 2(x+3 + x)

34 cm = 4x+6

34cm–6cm = 4x

x = 7cm

So now we know the value of x

we have to put 7 cm in place of x.

Length = x+3 = 7+3 cm = 10cm

Breadth = x = 7cm

Answer:

let breadth be x

then length is x+3

perimeter of the rectangle is 34 cm

2(l+b)= 34 cm

2(x+3+x) = 34 cm

2(2x+3) = 34 cm

4x+6= 34 cm

4x= 34-6

4x= 28 cm

x= 28/4= 7cm

breadth= 7cm

length= 7+3= 10 cm

hope it helps you
