Some raisins are kept in porridge and after sometime it is observed that it swell's up why?

THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE PASSIVE TRANSPORT"OSMOSIS" INFACT IT IS A FORM OF ENDO -OSMOSIS , THE PORRIDGE HAD HIGHER CONCENTRATION OF SOLVENT AS COMPARED TO THE CONCENTRATION OF SOLVENT IN THE RAISINS. SO THE PARTICLES OF SOLVENT MOVE IN TO THE RAISIN LEADING THE SWELLING OF THE CELL
