Sometimes the image formed by the convex lens of an object placed at 2F1 is not of the same size as that of as 2F2 on the other side of the lens. What could be the possible reasons for such a situation?

The reason could be, that, the medium on both the sides of lenses is not of same density and hence the focal length of both the spherical surface of the lens is different. That's why the value of 2F1 is not equal to 2F2 from the optical Centre.
