    Speech on great Indian inventions:

Respected 'Principal and Teachers', and 'My Dear Friends'.

First of all I would like to thank you all for giving me this wonderful opportunity to talk about India and her accomplishments. Being one of the 'world's oldest civilizations', complete with a rich culture and history as well as a long and strong 'tradition of science and technology', it 'comes as no surprise' that many important inventions have come from India. The greatest and most 'important contribution to mathematics' history was 'Zero', nevertheless without it, there would have been no 'binary system' and consequently, no computers.

All gratitude must go to Aryabhata, the man of many mathematical and astronomical talents. Indians were the first to use' Zero' as a 'symbol and in mathematical operations'. We all know that 'Ayurveda implies life science';' it is a traditional medical school, invented and practiced in India for over 5,000 years, and assists people achieve good health and live without using prescription medicines. Even in the 21st century, this ancient system of medicine continued and has become world-wide popular as an alternative medicine in recent years. A man with many success, Ajay V. Bhatt (An Indian-American Software Architect) created the USB, a compact removable storage device that can store and transmit a large amount of data. You know that for board games like the Classic Chess, Snakes and Ladders, you should thank India.

Chess is the game of intellectuals which was founded in the Gupta era in the 6th century A.D. as 'Ashtapada.' Inventing the' Snakes and Ladders,' originally known as' Mokshopat,' Gyandev, a poet from the 13th century. The snakes are vices and the ladders are virtues. India has been an important contribution in the field of healthy living and introduced the world to yoga which has been discovered and practiced in the country since the old years. Today, every day for a healthy life, people practice this spiritual, physical and mental exercise all over the World.

The way we communicate has revolutionized the invention of 'wireless communication'. In fact, Sir Jagadish Chandra-Bose was the first person to show the public 'use of radio waves in 1895' exactly two years before Marconi did similar demonstrations in England, when 'Guglielmo Marconi' invented 'wireless radio communication'. 'Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose' had developed 'wireless communication technology' that enables people, without the need for electric conductors, wires or cables, to 'communicate quickly' and 'transmit information across a distance'.

You'll be surprised to learn that buttons come from India, as well. Yes, this is true! Back to the 'Indus Valley in 2000 BCE', button roots can be traced back. They were made of seashells some five thousand years ago and shaped into geometrical shapes with small holes in them. They have been used for ornamental purposes in the past, but people have gradually begun to wear them for fastening clothes. While the list is endless we can proudly say that Indian innovations and discoveries have helped shape the face of the modern world.

Thank You!
