Since the molecules vibrate faster, sound waves can travel more quickly. The speed of sound in room temperature air is 346 meters per second. This is faster than 331 meters per second, which is the speed of sound in air at freezing temperatures

Speed of sound depends on many factors. But the most important is the density of the matter it is passing through. When sound passes through a denser medium it's speed decreases because the molecules vibrate slowly.. On the other hand ,when it passes through a less denser medium it's speed increases as the molecules vibrate quite quickly. We all know that a matter with high temperature have less density then a matter with less density. So when sound passes through a less denser medium it's speed increases and when it passes through a more denser medium it's speed decreases.
