Sponge violates the property of solids as it is compressible whatever is the reason . Then why we consider it as a solid

there r always exception .....
..it contains holes which is filled with air n when we compress it the air release out

In the same way, rubber is a solid that has definite shape and volume like other solids. However, when a certain force is applied on rubber makes it change its shape but when it is released, it gains its original shape back. That is why rubber is also considered as a solid.
