Given:

R² = 3F²

To Find:

Angle between two forces

Solution:

Let the magnitude of force be = F

Let the angle between forces be =  Ф

Magnitude of resultant two forces -

R = √F² + F² + 2F².Fcos Ф

Squaring both sides -

R = F² + F² + 2F² cos Ф

Now,

as R² = 3F²

3F² = F² + F² + 2F²cos

or 1 = 2 cosФ

Thus, cosФ = 0.5

cosФ = (1/2)

cosФ = 60

Answer: The angle between both is 60°
