Squaring Any Number Means Multiplying any number by the same number.

Finding the Square root of a number means Finding a Number which when multiplied by the same number gives the number which was originally provided to us.

There are different Methods to Find Square Root of a Number:

=> Prime Factorisation Method

=> Using Identities

=> Vedic Method

=> Long Division Method

Let us Focus on Long Division Method:

Given: Number - 4489

To Find: Square root

Procedure:

=> Group the given number with a pair of 2 digits starting from Right Side

=> Start from the left, Here the given number is 4489 So Groups would be 44 and 89.

=> First look for 44, Find a Number such that whose square is 44 if not then the smallest closest square number to 44.

=> In this cases it is 36 So, In the quotient write 6 and subtract 36 from 44.

=> The result is 8, Then Bring both the remaining numbers down as they were made as one pair.

=> The number formed is 889, In the Divisor part we got 6, Now add the number by itself i.e add 6 with 6 which is 12

=> Now We need a digit which when joined with 12 and then multiplied by the digit with that number formed by adding the digit should be 889.

=> The Digit 7 is the correct digit as: 127*7 = 889

=> So, in the quotient include 7 and subtract the number by 889 which gives the difference 0.

=> At the divisor Add 7 as we included that digit, which will result to 134 and the quotient is the half of 134 that is 67

=> For More Clarifications Refer to the Attachment.
