State any one advantage of connecting electrical devices in parallel with the mains in stead of connecting them in series in a household circuit.

If you connect all the electrical devices in series you can't turn off one device at a time ,if you switch off then the whole devices which are connected in series will turn off but by connecting the electrical devices in parallel you will have the reach to turn off any devices at a time .And you can also fuse for every separate devices in parallel combination to protect to your circuit from short circuit.

Advantages are :
When we connect Electrical appliances in parallel, we can independently use any device instead of running all the electrical appliances as in a series connection.
There is no risk when one of the electrical appliances gets damaged in a parallel circuit and it won't affect the other electrical appliances working as it have affected IN case the Appliance would have been connected in series connection ,other appliances wound work due to a break in the flow of electric current through the circuit.
