first we will take the larger number and then we will divide it with the second number.

Euclid's division lemma:- a=bq+r
so,
26= 18×1+8[Here 26 is dividend(a) , 18 is divisor(b), 1 is quotient (q) and 8 is remainder(r)]
now we will take 18 and divide it by 8
18=8×2+2
now we will take 8 and divide it by 2
8=2×4+0

so the remainder is 0 ,
Hence, the HCF is 2 (divisor)
