why does it take more time to cook in high altitudes

Since the maximum temperature of liquid water (boiling point) is less in high altitude, it takes more time to cook there. ... At high altitudes like mountains, the atmospheric pressure is high. So water boils at a temperature less than 100 degree Celsius. So it does not provide enough heat to cook the content.

Lack of oxygen makes it difficult to keep a fire ignited and due to the low temperature the fire mite not stay on .
