Answer:
State Principle of A.C. generator ?
→ Definition : Generator is a device which produces electric current or electric energy.
A.C. Generator
→ It is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. That is, whenever magnetic flux is linked with the circuit changes, induced current is produced in the circuit.
» Note : To understand the construction and working of A.C. generator first need to check the picture providing the necessary details of this device ( Aviable with answer )
→ i) Armature : It is a rectangular coil ABCD wound over a soft iron core.
→ i) Field Magnet : It is the strong permanent magnet. The coil rotates between the pole pieces of field
magnet.
→ iii) Slip rings: The ends of coil are connected to two rings R1 and R2 called slip rings. Rings rotate with the coil.
→ iv) Brushes: Two flexible metal pieces B, and B, in contact with rings are called brushes.
→ When the coil rotates in the magnetic field, magnetic flux linked with the coil changes. AS a result, induced e.m.f. is produced. The direction of current is determined by Fleming's right hand rule. In the first half of revolution, the current flows through B1 and during next half, it flows through B2 in reverse direction.
→ Thus, e.m.f. produced is of alternating nature.

Answer:
a.c. generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Whenever a coil is rotated in a uniform magnetic field about an axis perpendicular to the field, the magnetic flux linked with coil changes and an induced emf is set up across its ends.
