Himalayan Rivers are perennial which means that they have continuous flow due to the melting of the glaciers and they also have large drainage basin and they covers the most region in the northern plains and gets deposited into the Bay of Bengal.
Now, peninsular rivers are non perennial as they are totally dependent on rain. They covers the region of the peninsular plateau and gets deposited in the Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal too. Therefore they also have less drainage basin as compared to the Himalayan Rivers.
Nice question. Hope it helps you.
