Peninsular platue consists of central highland and deccan platue

CENTRAL HIGHLAND


● It lies to the north of the narmada river covering a major area of malabar platue.

●Vindhyan range lies to the south and aravali range in the northwest.

●The rivers flowing through these area are chanbal , sind , Betwa.

●The east ward extensions are locally known as Bundhelkhand and Baghelkhand.

●The Chottanagapur plateu is the east ward extension drained by the damodar river.


DECCAN PLATUE


●Deccan platue river is a triangular landmass which lies to the south of narmada river.

●The satpura range lies in the north.

Mahadev , kaimor hills , and Mikhal range from its eastern extensions.

●The extension of the platue in the northeast locally known as meghalaya , karbi-anglong platue and north chachar hills.

●The western and eastern ghats is marked as the western and eastern edges of the deccan platue.
