Answer:

Blast furnace process

Explanation:

This method of separation of iron from charcoal is done by 'blast furnace 'method .

In blast furnace the mixture of coke, ores and limestone is added from top of the furnace.

The temperature rises as we go down the furnace.

A blast of hot air is blown from the bottom of the furnace.

The burning of coke, therefore, supplies most of the heat required in the process.

The CO and heat is moved to upper part of furnace.

In upper part the temp. is lower and iron oxides ( Fe2O3 and Fe3O4) coming from top are reduced in steps to FeO.

Fe2O3 is 1st reduced to Fe3O4 and then to FeO

3Fe2O3 + CO ---> 2 Fe3O4 + CO2

Fe3O4 + 4CO --->3Fe + 4CO2

Fe2O3 + CO --->2FeO + CO2

Limestone is also decomposed to CaO which removes silicate impurity of ore as slag.

I tried may this will help

Marked it as brilliant
