The Archaeological Survey of India works under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. Its main occupation is to look after the maintenance of ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains of national importance. The Agra Circle is the oldest circle of the ASI which was set up in 1885 to preserve and manage the sites and monuments in the area, including the World Heritage Monument, Agra Fort. It has taken up the cleaning of dumped malwa from the area between the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. It has purchased Tubular Scaffolding at Agra Fort.
