A thick, middle layer of the heart that is formed of cardiac muscles is known as Myocardium.


There are thousands of muscle fibres within the myocardium, spread at uneven and irregular intervals across it called myocardial fibres.


They initiate impulses in the heart and then have them conducted through it instantly.


They make electrical conduction occur in the heart by using calcium.
