SOLUTION :-

x – 2y = 7 ---------(1)

2x + 3y = 7 ---------(2)

Now,

from eqn (1),

X = 7 + 2y

substituting the value of X in eqn(2),

2(7 + 2y) + 3y = 7

14 + 4y +3y = 7

7y = 7 – 14

7y = –7

Y = –1

substituting the value of y in eq (1),

X – 2(-1) = 7

X + 2 = 7

X = 5

Answer:

x = 5, y= -1

Step-by-step explanation:

  • x - 2y = 7
  • x = 7 + 2y -------- eq 1

put in other equation i.e. 2x + 3y = 7

  • 2 ( 7 +2y) +3y= 7
  • 14 + 4y + 3y = 7
  • 7y = 7 - 14 = -7
  • y = -1

put in eq 1

  • x = 7+ 2(-1) = 7-2
  • x= 5
