The saturated hydrocarbon is converted into unsaturated hydrocarcon by this reaction . In this reaction hydrogen atoms are replaced by double bond or triple bond to form unsaturated reaction . This reaction is called substitution reaction . It is also called dehydrogenation reaction .
for ex : C2H6 ------> C2H4 + H2
