4+24=28
28+28=56
56/2=28
we should find speed =distance/times taken then,
4+24=28/2 =12
12/3=4
then their speed is 4km

Answer:

The speed of Sudha is 2 km/hr and speed of Jiya is 3 km/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Sudha takes 4 hours more than Jiya to walk 24 km. If Sudha doubles her speed she is ahead of Hits by 2hours .

To find : Their speed

Solution :

Relation between speed , distance and time is \text{Time}=\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{speed}}

Distance covered = 24 km

Let the speed of Sudha is x km/hr.

Let the speed of Jiya is y km/hr.

So, time taken by Sudha is \frac{24}{x}

Time taken by Jiya is \frac{24}{y}

→ Sudha takes 4 hours more than Jiya to walk 24 km.

Equation form is \frac{24}{x}- \frac{24}{y}=4

24y-24x=4xy..........[1]

→ If Sudha doubles her speed she is ahead of Hits by 2 hours .

Equation form is \frac{24}{y}- \frac{24}{2x}=2

48x-24y=4xy ............[2]

Add equation [1] and [2]

Therefore, 24x=8xy

y=3

Put in equation [2]

48x-24y=4xy

48x-24(3)=4x(3)

48x-12x=72

36x=72

x=2

Therefore, The speed of Sudha is 2 km/hr and speed of Jiya is 3 km/hr.
