Sum of the numerator and denominator of a fraction is 18.if the denominator is increased by 2,the fractions reduces to 1/3.find the fraction ?

x+y=18                x=18-y  (i)

ATQ  x/y+2=1/3
3x=y+2

Putting (i)
3(18-y)=y+2
54-3y=y+2
52=4y
y=13

Putting y in (i)
x=18-13
x=5

Fraction=x/y
5/13
