Sum of the present ages of father and son is 62 years. Difference between ages after four years will be 24 years . What will be the age of the son at that time ?

Let the present age of father be x
the present age of son be y
From situation 1,
x+y=62
From situation 2,
(x+4)-(y+4)=24
x+4-y-4=24
x-y=24
From Eq 1,
x=62-y
Substituting this value in Eq 2..we get
x-y=24
62-y-y=24
62-2y=24
2y=38
y=19
If y=19..then..x=43
The present age of son is 19
The age of son after 4 years will 23
