x+y= 22

x²+y²= 404

(x+y)²= x²+y²+2xy

or,(22)²=404+2xy

or,484-404 = 2xy

or,80/2= xy

or, xy= 40

now

(x-y)²= (x+y)²-4xy

(x-y)²=484-160

(x-y)²=324

(x-y)=18. ------eqn1

(x+y) =22. -------eqn 2

now solve both eqn
