The Maharaja of Pratibandapuram was hailed as the 'Tiger King' becuase of the astrologer's premonition that since the king has taken birth in the hour of the bull, the reason for his death would be a tiger. That is when the king decided to kill every tiger in the kingdom, to prove the prediction wrong.

This story is about the shooting of Satyajit Ray's movie 'Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne' in the Jaisalmer fort. It tells us how the movie was shot and the way the then Maharaja was also with the crew on the first day of the shooting. They had a schedule of 4 days. Maharaja had a collection of some of the oldest manuscripts which he found in the vault below the temple. It also tells us about the crockery made by the Muslim craftsmen which was made of stone but floated on water. The Maharaja of Jaisalmer provided everything that was required for the shooting as he was fond of movies but he used to watch them when he used to visit Delhi. He had watched Bengali movies like 'Parineeta' and 'Devdas'.
