The Accidental Tourist is set in Baltimore, and looks into the life of Macon Leary, and the trials and tribulations that he has to struggle through in order to reach ultimate happiness. He is a travel guide writer whose son was shot at a fast-food restaurant a year previously, causing a rift between him and his wife, Sarah. Lost in grief, they find their marriage deteriorating until she eventually moves out. After a fall involving his dog, Edward, Macon moves back into his family home with his eccentric siblings.
Macon hires Muriel Pritchett to train his dog. She is a quirky young woman with a sickly son, Alexander, and he discovers that he has struck up a bond with the two of them. Muriel is the opposite of Macon’s wife, Sarah, which is perhaps what attracts him to her. She is talkative, brash, much less ‘classy’, and is fond of wearing odd outfits. He is continuously astonished by Muriel’s insightfulness, strength, and enthusiasm, as well as her peculiar habits and uncanny knack for listening. Macon has an innate love for the familiar, and this creates quite a struggle between the two of them.
Over time, Macon becomes attached to Muriel and her son, and, despite his misgivings, he moves in with them. When Sarah becomes aware of this situation, however, she decides to reconcile with him, and Macon is forced to make a difficult decision between two women he cares immensely about. He has to make daunting decisions about his future.
The novel ends ambiguously, allowing the reader to make a decision about which woman Macon chooses in the end.

In the chapter accidental tourist, the person does many unusual and silly mistakes whenever he travels anywhere. It is a kind of funny story. In this the man once dropped a glass of soft drink on a lady sitting behind him while traveling in an aeroplane. one day he tried to open his suitcase's chain and the chain broke and all the documents and money scattered in an area of airport. he always used to throw the food while opening the lid of the utensils at a hotel. one day while writing something, he put his pen in his mouth and that pen leaked. his whole mouth, teeth and chin turned into navy blue. so it is a kind of humorous story.
