Summary of poem Memories by Marjorie Wilson:
The poem 'Memories' is a recapitulation of the author's time spent with her father. The daughter mourns as everything in the household reminds her of her father.
From leading a pathway from the bread she just made to the graveyard of her father which reminds her of how skilled he was at tennis and how he had crumbled into the bed as a patient slowly waiting for his death which the author preferred should have been a quick one.
Still, her mother waits for his father’s latch lift at their gate. The author then talks about snatching all her memories away related to her father which are deaf to all other sounds.
