2020 Mahindra Thar launch will take place on October 2.

New Thar comes with a factory-fitted hard top and front facing seats.

Mahindra Thar 2020 will be available with petrol and diesel engines and manual and automatic transmission choices.

A decade ago is when the Mahindra Thar entered the market, more than 60 years after the CJ3A. Now, there is a brand new Thar that's about to go on sale in India on October 2, 2020, and in terms of mechanicals, features and engines, it is a big leap forward. We got a chance to take a closer look at the 2020 Mahindra Thar to get a feel of how it looks in the flesh, what sort of features are available inside the cabin and the kind of performance you can expect from the all-new Mahindra Thar on the road.

2020 Mahindra Thar exterior

In terms of design, the Thar follows the same philosophy as most other modern interpretations of iconic off-roaders like the Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Ford Bronco and the Land Rover Defender. The upright nose features circular headlamps and a seven slat grille. In a day and age when most manufacturers seem to be slapping on oversized grilles to the front of their vehicles, Mahindra has gone with a size that seems a touch too small. Although, anything bigger than this would've only amplified the new Thar's resemblance with the Jeep Wrangler. Next to the headlamps you'll find LED DRLs and turn indicators packed together. The bumper sports a two-tone look with circular fog lamps.

The exterior design of the new Mahindra Thar captures the essence of the earlier models rather well infusing classic styling with modern elements like the fender-mounted LED DRLs.

Over to the side, the Mahindra Thar in this LX trim comes shod with 255/65 18in rubber with alloy wheels. One of the most noteworthy improvements is the availability of a factory-fitted hardtop. Mahindra Thar will also be available with a fixed soft top in the lower AX grade and a convertible top as well, along with removable doors. The tail lamps get LED detailing along with 'THAR' badging. The tailgate is hinged on the right and the rear windshield flips up to reveal a very modest space for small backpacks and shopping bags with the second row up.

The new Mahindra Thar gets a factory-fitted hard top so now buyers won't have to head straight to a workshop for an aftermarket one.

2020 Mahindra Thar interior

With the new model, the Mahindra Thar's interiors witness major improvements in terms of ergonomics, quality and general fit and finish. In this fully-loaded LX grade, buyers get kit like a 7in touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay support and plenty of other features which we didn't quite get the time to explore in detail. Just under the touchscreen are the aircon vents below which are controls for the manual air conditioning the Mahindra Thar 2020 comes with. Front passengers get an AUX port, two USB ports and a 12V socket. As mentioned earlier, the good news is that there isn't much to complain about in terms of ergonomics. Most of the buttons, controls, etc. are where you'd want them to be. The only oddly placed switches are the ones for power windows, positioned right behind the gear lever but there is a good reason for that - removable doors. The steering wheel, lifted from the TUV300, features controls for audio and phone functions on the left and for cruise control on the right. Relaying information to the driver is an instrument panel with analogue speedo and tacho coupled with a very detailed MID.

The dashboard is the right mix of old-school charm and modern features including a touchscreen infotainment unit, a multifunction steering wheel and more. The switchgear within the cabin is IP 54 dust and water resistant.

The front seats seemed comfortable and even the front-facing rears seemed better than we expected them to be in terms of space and general comfort. Of course, spending long hours sitting in the rear is still not recommended but at le.

Answer:

The Gypsies" is a narrative poem in 569 lines by Alexander Pushkin, originally written in Russian in 1824 and first published in 1827. The last of Pushkin's four 'Southern Poems' written during his exile in the south of the Russian Empire, The Gypsies is also considered to be the most mature of these Southern poems, and has been praised for originality and its engagement with psychological and moral issues. The poem has inspired at least eighteen operas and several ballets.
