Summary of the poem, “No Alarm on the Flight Deck" by Pam Ayres:

The writer of the poem is also a BBC presenter and she had written the poem when she heard the news about two pilots who were asleep in the cockpit when the plane was in the air. The poet has presented the poem in quite a humorous way.

The poet was travelling through flights when she remembers the news that she heard about the pilots sleeping on flight when the plane was in mid air. So, when the other passengers in the flight are fast asleep, the poet is haunted by the possibility of pilots being asleep in the flight. She is terrified by even the thought of the accident that could happen in such a situation. She had all these thoughts going on in her mind, to such an extent that she asks one of the stewardesses to take a message to the pilot on behalf of the passengers. The message to the pilots were they should he responsible for the safety of the passengers. The pilots assures her that everything will be fine, and then only she feels easy about this situation.
