There ride their horses in order to find food. They see a large ball like thing coming near them in a valley.
The ball have large spiders which throw cobwebs and grey threads on them. The gaunt man gets surrounded by the spiders and he eventually dies. The young man holds the whip of the horse with one hand and kills many spiders with a sword. The master runs away from the spiders. The master's horse jumps from the valley which results in the death of horse but the master survives and hides on a rock.
Next morning, he sees the little man on his white horse. The master kills the little man cruelly and takes the horse which originally belonged to the little man. The master then escapes away.

They are soon attacked by a ball-like thing which slowly moves towards them and contains cobwebs and grey threads. The Gaunt man dies as the webs are spilled all over him and the master is thrown down into a valley where he dies. The master survives while his horse dies.
Meanwhile, the short man bravely fights with all the other webs and clears the pathway of the three men. Therefore making sure that everyone is safe, the little man delivers an exceptional amount of courage making him the bravest of all in the three men described in the story tale.
