Lolly is a young girl dedicated to helping these special creatures. She volunteers as a “Junior Biologist” at a sea turtle hospital. While working there, she meets an injured loggerhead turtle named Pancake. Lolly and Pancake form a close bond as the girl helps the sea turtle recover from her injuries and get well enough to be released.
Although saddened by the thought she will never see Pancake again, Lolly does see her again when Pancake returns to the beach to nest and lay her eggs.
