In the story, Dr. Rao is a person who was very fond of birds and had visited Cyril’s house all the way form India. Mrs. Fischer, Cyril’s mother told that Cyril was fond of birds. He gets accompanied by Cyril and he shows Cyril many books related to birds. On seeing a photo, Cyril tells that he had seen the same bird in a nearby place. Dr. Rao says that they were rare birds and Cyril might have mistaken it. Cyril makes sure that it was the same bird that he had seen. Both of them go in search of the bird. It was quite dark and on reaching the place, they saw the birds. But Dr. Rao could not make sure whether it was the rare kind of birds, the black robin.
The next day they again go to the spot with binoculars for each one. Dr. Rao then finds that it was actually the black robins that were living on that tree. On their way back home, he sends many faxes and makes a long distance call. He then assigns Cyril to take the eggs of the robin and stores it in a safe place. As he had to leave on that day, he tells Cyril to take care of the robins and the eggs that were to be produced. He even asks him to help his companions who have planned to camp the place soon.
All these made Cyril famous among the people. He received many letters from bird lovers and his photo was printed in the newspaper. All this made his parents proud of him. With this, he made the decision to study well so that he could learn more about birds in the future.
