Answer:

42 words per minute

Step-by-step explanation:

speed = 35 words per minute

time= 18 mins

.: no of words = 35×18 = 630 words

time in which the document needs to be finished = 15 mins

.: required speed = no. of words ÷ required time

= 630÷15 = 42 words per minute

Given:

Swastika can type 35 words per minute and she completes typing a document in 18 minutes.

To Find:

If the typing is completed in 15 minutes, what should be her typing speed

Solution:

It is given that Swastika types 35 words per minute and completes a document in 18 minutes so the total work done by her will be or say the total words typed by her will be,

Total work= 35*18

                 =630 words

So now here the work remains constant only her typing speed and time change inversely, so we can relate that, taking her new typing speed to be x,

35*18=x*15 ( because the work done in both cases is constant and same so we can equate both equally, hence)

x=630/15

=42 words/min

Hence, her typing speed is 42 words per minute.
