It the due to the hormonal balance or imbalance secreted the adrenaline gland which developes during puberty.They are namely epinephrine hormone and non epinephrine hormone. They control the fright, flight and fight response i.e sympathetic nervous system and the rest and digest response,i.e the parasympathetic nervous system. You may also say that these hormones controls our fear and prepares the body for fight or for rest depending on the situation. The craziness can be due to the fact that at teenage people are less fearful because of the hormonal control or merely due to that they are not aware of the consequences .It is also due to the working of various parts of brain and mainly two them namely amygdala (for sensing fear) and prefrontal cortex( rewarding centre). It is observed that prefrontal cortex is more matured in teenagers than amygdala and hence they do not think about the risk but only the reward that they might gain.
