I have been doing graveyard shift as a nurse at an Asylum. My work hours are from 11 pm - 5 am.
It was quarter past 1 night . I was going through some reports. I saw something move outside my cabin. I peeped out of my door and saw the woman patient of Room 202 walking down the corridor. I was confused because I usually locked the rooms so that the patients don't walk out. I called out to her. But she kept on walking and disappears round the corner to the entrance .
I doubled back and ran to Room 202. I checked the knob. It was locked, of course. Sweat trickled down the nape of my neck as I unlocked the door.
The room was cold. I shivered as I fumbled for the lights. As the lights were on, I saw the woman on the bed. I swallowed hard. I moved slowly towards her and checked her pulse.
Only to find she had no pulse. She was gone. She was dead.
I bolted out of the room to the entrance. There was no security. Now at this time I was beginning to panic . Relief washed over me as I saw the 2 guards walking back to their cabins. I asked them whether they had seen any woman going out. They said they did see a woman going out that's why they had left their cabins and went after her . But they couldn't reach her.
It was a scary experience. The doctor said that the woman passed away about half past 11. And I saw her wandering in the corridor at quarter past 1.
It still gives me the chills. I quit the job after 2 days.
